Lineman Field Guide ("the app") is provided by an individual developer as reference and practice material for people working in or entering the electrical line trade.
1. Reference only. The app is not training, not an engineering service, not a substitute for your employer's safety program, the National Electrical Safety Code, OSHA regulations, equipment manufacturer instructions, or professional judgment. Where anything in the app differs from those, they control. 2. Typical values. Tables and calculators use published standards and typical manufacturer data. Actual ratings differ by product and conditions. Always read the equipment tag and your employer's standard. 3. Practice material. Quiz questions and drills are for study only and are not any program's examination. 4. Simulators and measurement tools are teaching aids and field estimates, not instruments. 5. No warranty. The app is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Use at your own risk. 6. Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any injury, death, property damage, loss, or claim arising from use of or reliance on the app. 7. Your data stays on your device. See the privacy policy. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to share a PDF or an email. 8. Free. The app is free of charge and contains no ads. Future paid features, if any, will be clearly labeled before purchase. 9. Material other users share. The app lets you send your own study decks and notes to other people as a file, and lets you follow a list of decks published by someone else — a school, a local, an individual. That material is theirs. It is not created, hosted, reviewed, endorsed or checked by the developer, the app's own accuracy statements do not apply to it, and the developer is not responsible for it.
Nothing you write is uploaded to the developer, and there is no submission process. What you share and who you share it with is between you and them.
When you share study material, you are responsible for having the right to share it. Do not share your employer's standards, company-confidential procedures, copyrighted test banks, or text copied from a book or another app. Follow a list only if you trust whoever gave you the link. 10. Content and trademarks belong to their owners. OSHA text is public domain. Report errors via the in-app link. 11. The app itself is not open source. Its code, text, calculators, and reference data are owned by the developer and licensed to you only for personal use of the app. You may not copy, extract, redistribute, resell, decompile, or build a competing product from them. The app includes third-party software libraries under their own licences; those notices are reproduced under Settings › Software notices and apply only to those libraries. Illustrations reproduced from US Government publications are public domain and free for anyone to use. 12. Governing law: the developer's state of residence. If any term is unenforceable, the rest stand.
By tapping "I understand this is reference only" at first launch you accept these terms.
